    In this class your child will learn basic Tae Kwon-Do moves while building strength and coordination and endurance. The rules of Martial arts respect, responsibility and self-control will be emphasized. We begin with a warm up; learn how to form the tools needed for correct punches kicks and chops, practice the moves we learn, and end with a fun game designed to increase focus and listening skills. Programming will be specialized to meet the needs of the students.

    102100 - Intro to Adaptive Tennis

    We are thrilled to introduce adaptive tennis to our roster of offerings. In thanks to a grant received from the US Tennis Association, we are able to give $120 scholarships to the first 2 players to register!

    This class is perfect for children ages 7-11yrs who experience mild gross motor and/or developmental delays. Children will learn basic tennis skills in a fun, caring, and safe environment adapted to their needs. A modified tennis court, low pressure balls, among other training tools help to create an overall positive experience for your child through tennis.

    Looking to try tennis before you register? Sign up for our introduction to adaptive tennis clinic, running on April 25 for $10.

    Played similar to the game of soccer, power soccer is a sport designed specifically for people using power wheelchairs. Plastic soccer guards are attached to participant’s wheelchairs and are used to maneuver, kick, and pass a 13" soccer ball around on a regulation size basketball court. This team sport teaches skills while fostering camaraderie, teamwork, and sportsmanship and is an appropriate fit for anyone that can independently and safely maneuver their own chair. This program is an introduction to the sport and all equipment will be provided by the coach.

    This spring, Sudbury Park and Recreation will be hosting the fifth annual Sneaker Prom for community members with disabilities ages 14+! This dance is an inclusive event with volunteers from surrounding area high schools. Semi-formal attire with funky footwear encouraged! We will have a DJ, photo station, and lounge. Attendants are invited and welcome.

    Super Soccer Stars Shine Program uses soccer as a vehicle to teach life skills to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities including but not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, ADHD and PDD-NOS. We work with a developmentally-appropriate curriculum designed by licensed educators and therapists that promotes the complete growth of each individual and encourages players to improve at his or her own pace. We use soccer to enhance peer interactions and provide a safe environment for players to increase social potential. Our low player-to-coach ratio ensures that individuals receive continuous support and personal attention.

    Musical Theater Experiences is in its 20th year. We offer children the opportunity to learn and then perform for family and friends, an age appropriate version of both original and well know musicals. Emphasis is on building self-confidence and self-esteem. No auditions or experience is necessary and everyone gets a part, along with singing and dancing. Our adaptation of The Little Mermaid.     122100 - Festival Orchestra

    The Festival Orchestra program is for students who have mastered such skills as bow hold, instrument hold, note reading. Students will learn 2-3 pieces from the standard grade level 1 to 1.5 repertoire. There are 10 rehearsals this spring. Students will need to bring their instrument, a pencil and a folder to each rehearsal. The stand will be provided. This program is an enrichment for the string students who began their study this or last year at school and would like to advance their skills. At the end of class your aspiring chef will receive the main ingredient and the recipe so that they can show off what they’ve learned! Each session arrives with fresh recipes and ideas to inspire your healthy eater! Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn’t miss out on the fun. We know allergies and can work around them, making sure that everyone is having fun and staying safe.
